While it all sounds so simple, sitting in one place and doing the work, it seldom stays this simple, the day when we have a good mood, or when we are looking to complete the task ASAP. Similar to all other tasks, the focus is channeled through continuous practice and takes time and effort to gain full. Focus is for channeling your mind and body towards a particular thought or work, focus needs regularity to become an expert, it’s like a sport which you play regularly to become a master;

In recent times, the change in trends of working has drastically affected our working patterns from working in an office to working from home, the focus and our workings have changed statically, working from the office means rushing to go to sleep and then to exercise and to get a shower and then to get ready, from spending hours in traffic and office to spending all of your time at home and in short making it into a hotel, office, time out space and much more.

 

During this free time, many started involving themselves in other activities as a pretext to move out of the restricted scheduled life and weekdays. Some picked up sports, some yoga, and some tried their hands at influencing others by putting what they do on social media platforms such as Facebook, and Twitter, and making these an alternative source for income as well as to delineate their focus onto trying something new with the passage of each day.

While the real test of focus was getting hampered during these times, due to several distractions attacking us, we still proved that we are inevitable. Focus is similar to a little bird that learns to fly, initially, it gets fed by its mother while in the nest, and then the mother tutors it on how to fly in the beginning it also has many failed attempts and fears to make changes for its big leap might fail and his efforts might go futile. Similarly, we fear that in the attempt to focus and strike a balance between your mind and body which thoughts should we let pass through and how long to hold it for.

Focus can be achieved when we have calmness and presence of mind, all of which are good traits that one should perform while at the workplace. Concentration is the ability to recognize and maintain longevity in whatever you put your mind to and mental exercise helps strengthen your ability of the mind to focus and concentrate. Meditation has steadily become a popular method to strengthen these aspects of the mind, but very few people have a good knowledge of what its basic root is to learning to engage your focus towards a place almost amounts to gaining concentration, as only through good concentration you can learn to meditate and increase your focus. And it’s a significant factor in meditation to have an unwavering focus, so at the workplace and in real life you might have seen people unable to attend work meetings, office deadlines, etc. it is because they lack focus and concentration, it can mostly be seen nowadays in the youth, mainly because of the two reasons, former being that nobody has been taught the art and secret behind concentration, and if they know it they are unable to force themselves upon the beneficial use of it.

The main thing that you can do to deviate your focus or maybe shift it to fruitful use is to turn up from using social media, social media makes you from focusing on important things such as the happenings around in the world and in the workplace, deviate from using Instagram, Twitter and WhatsApp they try to manipulate your mind into thinking about everything else but your work which is a great hindrance into maintaining unfiltered focus.

 

For this you can try scheduling time for using social media such as using it before going to bed or maybe using it during the lunch break, that’s how you would be free to use social media at a stipulated time and would also be free to focus at the work.

Focus is a habit more than an activity, incorporating the habit of doing chores and tasks on time makes you ace the focus game and you feel that you have more hold on doing things and have more concentration than before. These easy exercises and methods will help you enhance your focus in the workplace and in public life as well. You should have one mantra “mantra- eat- sleep- repeat”
