Top 7 Keto-Friendly Desserts That Will Blow Your Taste Buds

Top List

There is a common misconception that the ketogenic diet, also known as the keto diet, is unpleasant by default because low-carb and sugar-free food can’t be tasty, and enjoying desserts is out of the question. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. If you’re unsure of how to make keto desserts, fear not. We’ve compiled a list of seven of the absolute best keto-friendly dessert recipes and keto baking recipes to help you satisfy your sugar cravings and humor your sweet tooth.

Cheesecake

If I had it my way, I would subsist on a diet of this keto cheesecake only. It is rich, creamy, and has the perfect balance of sweetness and tang, and in my opinion is one of the best keto desserts.

The first step to this keto dessert is to make your crust. Traditional cheesecake crusts are made with graham crackers or a mixture of flour, sugar, butter, and eggs. This crust substitutes almond and coconut flour and melted butter to hold them both together. The end result is a flaky, crumbly crust with a slightly nutty flavor that enhances the creaminess of the cheesecake.

The bulk of the cheesecake requires three 8oz blocks of cream cheese, 16oz of sour cream, 3 eggs, and a sugar-free sweetener like Stevia or Swerve. Once everything has been brought to room temperature and combined into a seamless mixture, you can pour it over your prepared crust.

After a heat bath, you can pop the cheesecake in the oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit and bake between 60 to 80 minutes. Serve with fresh berries on top for texture and added sweetness.

There are plenty of creative and delicious ways to enjoy keto desserts and other low-carb sweets that won’t kick you out of ketosis—not to mention keto desserts that are easy and can actually help you achieve your fat macro goals for the day.

Hot Chocolate

Sometimes you want to curl up in a blanket and drink your dessert, and with this delicious quick keto dessert you can. There are numerous keto dessert recipes out there that will keep you in ketosis, but this particular hot chocolate recipe is one of my favorites.

Prepare a ¼ cup of heavy cream and combine with 1 ¼ cup water, vanilla extract, and 2 tbsps of unsweetened cocoa powder. You can optionally add a sweetener like Swerve, depending on how sweet you like your keto treats. Once mixed and heated, you can top with homemade whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon or cocoa powder.

If you’re looking for easy keto desserts to stock up on, try fat bombs. These low-carb desserts are simple to make and beloved by both keto dieters and their families. Fat bombs are a small ball of dessert that is high in healthy fats and low in sugar and carbs. They can promote ketosis and help you feel full between meals.

To make fat bombs, mix room temperature cream cheese with keto-friendly peanut or nut butter, coconut oil, a pinch of salt, and keto-friendly dark chocolate chips. Just use a mixer to combine the ingredients, roll them into ball form, and let them sit in the fridge for 10 to 15 minutes before eating.

Fat bombs are great for daily treats or snacks between meals. To make them last as long as possible, keep them in a covered container in the fridge.

Warm, gooey chocolate chip cookies are one of life’s greatest pleasures. In addition to being a comforting treat at any time of day, they are also nostalgic, which makes them even more enjoyable when you eat them as an adult. These keto sweets have two net carbs per cookie and are easy to make.

Combine butter, keto sweetener, eggs, almond flour, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt with a bag of sugar-free chocolate chips in a bowl. Mix until homogeneous, roll them into balls of cookie dough, and place them in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 10-12 minutes.

Keto pastries like these tart and buttery pop tarts are what dreams are made of. They are a healthy alternative to the store-bought pop tarts you are used to and can be filled with homemade jam like strawberry or raspberry, or something a little more savory like cream cheese, depending on your preferences.

Each pop tart is a single serving and is perfect for a sweet breakfast treat or after dinner dessert. The key to this flaky dough is the xanthan gum. This keeps the dough from becoming fragile and breaking easily.

Although zero carb desserts are hard to come by at the supermarket or in your kitchen, these gummy bears come pretty close. They are as close to a sugar-free, low-carb dessert as you can get while still tasting delicious. They are also one of those keto-friendly desserts that is both fun to make and eat.

Simply mix a packet of sugar-free Jello with unflavored gelatin and a little bit of water into a mold of your choosing and voila! A colorful and playful “no carb” dessert perfect for a movie night or party.

Contrary to popular belief, carb free desserts don’t have to include sweeteners. For a healthy keto dessert option, consider the delicious combination of freshly cut strawberries and whipped cream with mascarpone added for extra creaminess and a little tang.

Mascarpone is an Italian cream-cheese that is much softer and has a lighter texture than American cream cheese, so the dessert stays light and refreshing. You could substitute the strawberries for other fresh berries for days of easy keto desserts.
