Tú and Vos

Today I’m going to talk about a particular type of Spanish. Espanol Rioplatense, the Spanish that we speak in Argentina and Uruguay.

In this Spanish there is particularity. So the from that we commonly use as Tu in all other types of Spanish as to say you, so the singular you. So you are Tom is Tu eres Tom.

In Spanish from Argentina it changes to Vos. instead of saying Tu es, we say Vos sos.  So that is the first main difference that we have a different pronoun but as we have a different pronoun, we also have a different conjugation for verbs in the present tense.

So, instead of saying to Tu eres in this type of Spanish we say Vos sos. instead of saying to Tu quieres, we say Vos queres.

Now, pay attention that the intonation changes as well.  (Please watch video to hear proper pronunciation).
