A Day in The Life of Natasha O

My name is Natasha O’Reilly I was born in Singapore but grew up and currently live in Melbourne, Australia. I started coaching 12 months ago. I gained Strong Nation certification as a coach in October 2020 and Zumba Fitness Certification in April 2021. My favorite quote is “Never Give Up, Keep Trying”.

What is Strong Nation?

Strong Nation is aerobic high intensity interval tempo training. The exercise is full body muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training in synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. Every squat, every lunge, every burpee, helping an individual make it to that last rep, and maybe even five more.

Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — to help improve cardiovascular fitness.

I enjoy seeing smiles on my clients face or receiving positive feedback as this gives me a sense of accomplishment. They motivate me to improve and keep learning.

Since I started coaching it is a learning experience from learning the choreography, social media, video editing and delivering the program to clients. It is a steep learning experience and lots of practice learning the dance step or the exercise.

I enjoy seeing smiles on my clients face or receiving positive feedback as this gives me a sense of accomplishment. They motivate me to improve and keep learning.

Being a good coach requires learning different choreography all the time, this is challenging as I must remember the choreography and know how to deliver it to my client.

It is also an awesome opportunity to meet different people all the time and by delivering the exercise to people, this helps build self-confidence and a learning experience.

As a coach there is always training workshops to help us improve our technique and choreography. These training workshops help improve our skill and be a better teacher.

The point I am addressing here is that as a fitness coach we are always learning something new, and the coaching material delivered in each class is different. It is never the same. Also with Zumba, you are always dancing to new songs and rhythm. This makes the class fun and entertaining.

Schedule For the Day

As mentioned, before I am working part-time as a casual in a contact centre three days a week and sometimes four days. This work has a large impact on determining my daily routine and influences how much time and when I can do my training and studies as a fitness coach.

The schedule listed below was a day spent focusing on coaching and professional development as a fitness coach.

7:50am to 11:30am wake up and get ready for Strong Nation Pre-release training workshop. This workshop was pre-release Quadrant 3 Class 17, Push Your Limit!!

The training workshop basically helps us understand the exercise technique, queuing and how to present the class to our students. Each different format is taught from the basic level to the max level. It also gives us the opportunity to show the Master Trainer how we would do the exercise so we can be corrected if required.

11:30am 2pm Rest and lunch (leftover hubby’s pizza and a cup of soup)

2pm to 5:30pm social media promotion

I did a video recording of a research finding I did for Cert 3 Fitness Assignment. What is Strong Nation exercise, what does a High-Intensity Class involve and the benefit of doing a Strong Nation exercise.

5:30pm to 6pm Conducted an online life Strong Nation exercise. This was just a 20 mins class as that was the request from the participant. This participant has not done a Strong Nation exercise and it was his first time trying it out.

The 20 minutes Strong Nation exercise involves a warmup, Quadrant 1 which is the push-up and leg challenge and followed by a cool down. Simple and easy to follow for individual who have not done a Strong Nation exercise before or is new to High-Intensity Interval Fitness Training.

6pm to 9pm Shower, dinner and did the laundry.

9pm to 12:00am Back to promotion write up Diary life of a teacher and produced promotion material.

12:00am Wash up and sleep time.
